We are hiring a Finance Manager (f/m/d) or Senior Finance Manager (f/m/d) to own the financial backbone of forward earth. You will oversee accounting, project funding, financial planning, reporting, and revenue operations in close collaboration with our founders and external partners.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a broad scope, wants both operational responsibility and strategic impact, and feels comfortable in a fast-moving early-stage environment.

Your responsibilities

• Own day to day accounting and closing activities for our entities together with our external accounting firm

• Manage corporate and tax related administration, including ESP related filings via ELSTER, Handelsregister processes, and capital contributions

• Lead the financial side of public funding and grant projects, from applications to reporting, settlements, and monthly time sheet oversight

• Maintain and improve our financial model and business plan, updating actuals regularly and refining forecasts for hiring, expenses, and revenue

• Build clear internal reporting on cash, burn, runway, and key finance KPIs, and prepare concise materials for investors and advisors

• Handle customer billing and basic revenue operations, including invoicing, dunning, and keeping RevOps sheets and pipeline data up to date

• Support commercial and legal topics from a finance perspective, for example customer and vendor contracts, pricing structures, and risk assessment

• Drive finance related OKRs and continuously improve finance processes, tools, and documentation as we scale

• Several years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally in a SaaS, tech, or startup environment

• Solid understanding of German accounting and tax requirements, especially HGB, and familiarity with IFRS

• Experience working with external tax advisors and accounting firms in Germany

• Strong command of Excel or Google Sheets, with experience in financial modelling, cash planning, and scenario analysis

• Very structured and reliable working style, with high attention to detail and data quality

• Proactive, self-driven and able to manage your own projects from idea to implementation

• Excellent communication skills in English, German knowledge is a strong plus
